XNA Gaming Studio Express 1.0 Released!

Not the coolest of names but today Microsoft announced that XNA Gaming Studio Express 1.0 has been released.

The XNA Game Studio is a system that let’s you develop your own games for the Xbox360, so now all those fun ideas you have in your head can be brought to life.

From the FAQ

XNA Game Studio Express is a new game development solution targeted primarily at students, hobbyists, and independent game developers.

Best if all the XNA Gaming System is absolutely free. The only thing you need to pay for is the ability to develop, debug, and play your games on the XBox360, and prices for that start at $49 for four months. If you are a serious developer then $49 for four months is nothing, and if you’re doing it for fun, then it’s still very little (compare the price to a game you will play for four weeks).
