Wired - Best Indie Games 2007

We’ve only just started the year, and there are still top ten lists being written for the last one yet Wired have already decided what the Best Indie Games 2007 are going to be. Being an indie game developer - and a gamer even - makes this something I am very interested in.

In this case a lot of the games are quite “fringe”. They’re not the casual games you get on the portals, but niche games that more truly define the phrase “indie game”. Please don’t take this the wrong way. I see nothing wrong with casual games, we review a lot of them here (and I make them myself ), but these games are what people traditionally think of as indie. These are the games that take risks, or do things differently. These are the games that are made for the developer rather than the audience, and they are all the better for it! Whether you like the games mentioned or not though is down to you.
