Webgame Wednesday: Movie Munchies
Movie Munchies - something no doubt many of us succumb too. The desire to pig out at the Cinema, my weakness is the Ben and Jerries ice cream.
Thankfully most people are more sensible than the lard arses from Movie Munchies, people who think nothing of ordering 3 or 4 burgers, a couple of fries, a packet of crisps (potato chips) and a soft drink or 2 (no doubt diet).
The game, however, will only burn calories since it requires lightning reflexes and frantic button pushing.
You have to take the orders of a series of increasingly greedy cinema goers. Perversely the more they order the faster they want to be served. The order process is easy - the customer asks for the items, each of which corresponds with a number on your keyboard. All you have to do is press the keys in sequence. Unfortunately the numbers are not on the items so you have to remember which item is which number. The items are introduced one at a time so it’s relatively simple to remember each new item, however the extra items make the orders increasingly frantic.
One thing that stops the game from becoming a nightmare of epic proportions is the inclusion of the number pad as an input method. Playing the game on a laptop (without a number pad) is considerably more challenging than the pc version.
Movie Munchies is a nice little time waster, one whose highscore board became a matter of personal pride at work.
