Webgame Wednesday : Hoshi Saga 3

This is becoming quite a common thing but the Hoshi Saga games (1 and 2 can be found here and here) are too good to pass up.

Each Hoshi Saga game is a series of small puzzle games where the objective is simply to find the star within the level. Sometimes the puzzles are very easy and can be completed quite quickly. Other times you will end up tearing your hair out in frustration.

I really like the fact that you can play 75% of the puzzles at any time, only completing the game once you have unlocked the others in the set. I also like the fact that no two puzzles are the same. There are also no death situations - the game is totally “safe”. Any time you do something wrong or get stuck in the game you can go back and try something else, coming back to your problem puzzle at a later date.

The game was clearly designed as a series, the name gives it away but the puzzles are also numbered according to what has come before, so the first puzzle in this game is number 71.

The Hoshi series is fantastic fun and Hoshi Saga 3 continues the tradition - it’s well worth a punt when you want a brain teaser with a difference.
