Webgame Wednesday: Dead Frontier

Dead Frontier is an upcoming survival horror massively multiplayer role playing zombie shoot ‘em up, due for release in March 2008. In the run up to it’s release it is also a series of web based games.

1. Dead Frontier: Night One is a simple single room based shoot ‘em up. Survive the increasingly challenging hordes of zombie scum.
2. Dead Frontier: Night Two is similar to the first night but you’ve escaped to a larger world, outside the previous interior confines.
3. Dead Frontier: Night Three still outside you now have to protect a young girl from the horrific hordes of evil zombie scum

The games look particularly nice, with very atmospheric lighting and lots of disgusting zombies. The animation is also very good giving a convincing feel and atmosphere.

The gameplay is also interesting, especially with the team mate and innocent on the third game. I’m more than intrigued to see how the final game turns out. I would guess it too will be a browser based affair, since it would make sense to use the same engine for the mini games.
