Webgame Wednesday : Boxhead Zombie Wars

The long awaited Boxhead sequel - Boxhead Zombie Wars, is finally upon us.

It's great.

There's not much more to say really.

Ok - actually there is. The game is an update in every way over it's sequels. There are more varied enemies, in fact more enemies full stop. Things get very chaotic very quickly - and I found it all a lot more challenging than the earlier games which isn't a bad thing, it's just a much faster progression than before.

boxheadzombieAs well as the classic mode there is a brand new defense option, in which you have to keep your base running - which seems to involve placing new gun turrets and barricades whilst staying alive. Personally I found the defense mode a bit vague, and less fun than the classic option.

Visually the game is a feast with tile graphics supplied by Danc from Lost Garden. There is lots of claret but with the cartoony stylings the game has it never even approaches gory. Just red. The sheer amount of stuff happening on screen is very impressive, especially considering the fact the game is made in Flash.

If you like to pound on the zombies (vampires, mummies, and other ghouls) then you will be very pleased with Boxhead: Zombie Wars.
