Webgame Wednesday : Balloon Invasion

Balloon Invasion is a combination of Tower Defense and Real Time Strategy, dressed up in some rather pretty clothes.

Control the gun emplacements on the field of battle, strategically upgrading and defending from the incoming hoards of airborne foe. Whilst shooting down the enemy you can also radio the squadrons for reinforcements, rebuild your destroyed weaponry. There is a quite complex upgrade system between levels, almost reminiscent of an rpg with experience points earnt and spent on upgrading various options.

Balloon Invasion starts of fairly slow and steady but ramps up the difficulty quite quickly. I do think the levels are a touch too long, but in general it’s a very nicely balanced game with plenty of challenge and enough to keep you entertained for some time.
