Videos from Games Convention Leipzig
Here’s a round up of some of my favourite videos from the recent Game Conference in Leipzig.
Mario Galaxy
It’s Mario and it’s coming out in November this year (in the UK). It’s great! Listen out for the rep at the end who tells the photographer they’re not allowed to film this particular level. Fools – shouldn’t make it playable if you don’t want people to see it.
Metal Gear Solid 4
Yep – another one. This time there are lot’s of big meanies. Looks like 4 different bosses, and I’m not sure they’re working towards the same goal – and could that be a an appearance by Psycho Mantis?
The Golden Compass
The video game, of the film, of the first of a series of books, the Golden Compass is the start of the Dark Materials trilogy. Actually when I went to the Sega bloggers event recently I noticed a poster for this game, so I knew it was in the works, but I didn’t realise the release was so close. It’s looking good, and stomping around as Iorek Byrnison would be very cool.
Sonic Riders
Hopefully better than the first version, it certainly looks cool. Let’s hope it’s an improvement on recent Sonic outings…
Any others
I’m sure I’ve missed out some cool videos so if there are any games you think look good that aren’t here, then let me know and I will write another post – giving you full credit of course

Woot! Leipzig begins… this is so awesome. And nice vids, though I don’t get why Mario is grounded (guess planet-hopping doesn’t make up the whole game). Sonic’s game looks pretty, we’ll see if it’s gameplay holds up well.
Hopefully we’ll see new Spore and Warhammer Online footage being released soon.
