The first Tony Hawk's game on the PlayStation was an amazing thing. It created a new genre (extreme sports games) and worked it to perfection. The sequel was better still. Each game since has improved in various areas but generally they are now feeling less and less enjoyable.
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam looks to change this. Downhill Jam is exclusive to the Nintendo consoles (DS and Wii) and turns the old challenge style gameplay into a downhill race.
DS Trailer
The DS game combines the cell shaded look of Tony Hawk's Sk8teland with the gameplay of the Wii version of Downhill Jam, and it's looking like it will be great fun.
Wii Video
The Wii, on the other hand, uses it's unique controller as a skateboard (you use your hands rtather than standing on it) tilting the controller to control your character.
The only bad thing about Downhill Jam is that it means we won't be getting Tony Hawk's Project 8 on Nintendo consoles... but then based on the other recent games maybe it's not such a bad thing?
