Tomb Raider Wii
Tomb Raider Anniversary has been out for a good few months now. If you’ve played it (and completed it) then I guess this won’t be of much interest to you, but the developers are now talking about the Wii version of the game.
1up.com has the full information.
In this kit, you have access to a chisel, brush, pickaxe, flashlight and some charcoal. With the chisel and brush, you can uncover clues like hieroglyphs that have been covered with layers of dirt and sediment over time. You don’t have to worry about memorizing all the runes, as you can make a copy of it by rubbing charcoal over a piece of paper. This is especially useful because some of the puzzles require you to point the Wii Remote at the screen and draw a specific hieroglyph into a box of sand in order to trigger pillar-raising mechanisms.
Personally I feel that some of those additions sound like they have been tacked on to make use of the Wiimote, but some of them seem rather nice. I feel they should have kept Lara in the Wii specific sections more than they have, you should see her arm and hand, as it is you become disjointed from the action making it feel like a different game. Of course I haven’t actually played it so will most likely be wrong. It does sound like they’re trying to do a more than a straight port of the game, and the other versions are good, so I’m hopeful.
