The Underside, some gameplay

Tim from indygamer has recently posted a new video of The Underside.

This game bears a strong resemblance to a certain platforming game that goes by the name of Cave Story... but it also brings with it it's own elements. In the developers own words...

i originally wasn't going to show this video to too many people (which is why i kind of left in a lot of the mistakes like the mouse cursor in the beginning, and no music) since it kind of gives away at least two of the new gameplay elements (the grapple and the cannons) but someone went through a lot of effort to edit the thing so i'm flattered basically!

So the new bits are the cannons and fuses, that you can use to propel yourself long distances crazy fast, and the grapple which is only used briefly and let's you swing across gaps. I can see these being used for lots of puzzle based platforming, and it will be interesting to see if anything else is added.
