The games you missed in 2006

The guys over at 4 color rebellion have put together a list of the games you missed in 2006 and, unlike most of their articles, this isn't exclusively Nintendo based.

From that list I would Contact would be the game I want to play the most. Technically I haven't missed it either, since it has yet to be released in the uk, but Amazon.co.uk tells me it is coming at the start of February. I also wouldn't mind having a play of Elite Beat Agents, and the Bookworm Adventures games sounds interesting, despite me never having heard of it.

you've seriously not heard of the bookworm adventures (or were you joking) ;-) It's got some massive indie budget and is sold for more than $19.95

  • Elite Beat Agents is one of those weirdly addictive games that you can't put down once you've picked it up and beaten it. Bookworm Adventures is fun (well, based on the trial I played on it) and it also keeps one from feeling brain dead...

I hadn't heard of it - no. I had heard of the original bookworm game, but I tend to gloss over popcap stuff, not entirely sure why :S

  • "Bookworm Adventures" is pretty alright, especially if you're prone to doing the Jumble in the paper.

I think the RPG presentation detracts from the gameplay; nothing against RPGs but I'd rather have more making words and less clicking through "plot" and breaks in the action.
