Rückblende
Student games projects are so often the ones that surprise and influence. When you’re a student you tend to get pushed to work on more innovative, unusual, arty projects – and Rückblende is just that.
Unfortunately the games website has collapsed – I assume under the games weighty 600+ megabyte download – so for now you will have to make do with the videos of the game I’ve included below.
Apparently it’s an adventure game, not dissimilar to the Samorost type offerings. However the unique visual stylings (photographed models, and hand drawn character animation) give it a very distinct look.
Hopefully Nils, the developer, will get some new hosting soon so that we can actually play it.
Thanks to TigSource for the heads up
