Robocop 2D 3

I just nearly killed my left hand playing Robocop 2D 3 by Park Productions. It’s a FREE frantic sideways scrolling shoot’em up in the style of Double Dragon and it’s made in BlitzMax. The download includes PC, Mac and Linux versions - Amazing!

Basically you control Robocop and you walk through a variety of grimy futuristic levels and shoot the hell out of tons of baddies who charge at you continuously - the body count is higher than the movie! You can crouch (to shoot crates/barrels which contain special items and to kill motorcyclists like in Renegade) and jump (although I’ve no idea what for). You can’t interact with the background scenery and the gameplay is a bit simplistic but the moviesque music and the Robocop samples and the sheer lunacy of it make it a winner for a quick crazy blast. It’s even got ED209 in it (of course) and has some nice touches like when you are on your last life you loose you helmet and can see Murphy’s face.
