There has been a whole stack of news from the recent Nintendo Japanese conference along with new game announcements. I’ve posted videos of some of the more interesting (unexpected) ones below.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and the Promised Land (Wiiware)

I never actually played the GameCube version of this. I always wanted too but I’d heard it was only really fun in multplayer and I didn’t know anyone else with a gameboy advance. I soooo want this to be good. I love the visual stylings and cooperative gameplay is something else I like.

I reckon it should do extra well since it will be the first game on the new WiiWare channel… and it’s Final Fantasy!

Monster Hunter 3

Apparently this is very big in Japan. Unfortunately it seems to have passed me by entirely. I have heard of the game (series) but I’ve never played it.

Wii Music

The long awaited Wii music game. This one is a little bizarre to me, but the idea of my Mii (who IS me!) playing instruments is strangely appealing. I reckon it will be a budget/ tie in game, and I reckon it’s the sort of thing my girlfriend will like (non violent cooperative).

Pokémon Farm (Wiiware)

Possibly only for Pokemon fans this will likely be popular as well. Again being on WiiWare it will do even better, since it will reach the widest possible audience. I’m intrigued by the visual style, since it has quite strong colours which is moving away from the pastels of the Pokemon games. Also it features Miis instead of the Pokemon trainers we know and love. It’s in a different style but I really like the added use they are getting out of the Miis - makes them much more worthwhile.
