New. Awesome. It’s Super Mario Galaxy

The two games I am most looking forward to at the moment are Assassins Creed... and this!

Super Mario Galaxy (Japanese official site just launched) is just looking more and more awesome and it's sooooo close now. Anyone disappointed by Mario Sunshine should have their faith restored as I don't see how this can go wrong.

It's incredibly stylised but the colours, design, and overall feel are wonderfully put together and showcase the Nintendo Wii.

Another thing shown is some larger platform jumping worlds. One of the things I was concerned about initially was that the smaller worlds would make the game boring (as there would be less to do). I worry no longer.

Intro

The intro to the game... including flying ships from Mario 3 and an amazing kidnap of a certain princess.

Tricks

Demos of many of the moves (new and old) including how some of the tricks will work (with the Wiimote) and a whole bunch of new levels.

Action

Loads of new action, including some Super Monkeyball style shennanigans.

Looks ace. I actually liked Super Mario Sunshine, I completed it. There were some annoying or boring bits but overall it was neat. But then I never played any of these games prior to having a gamecube so maybe I didn't know any better.

  • It might even be the best Mario game ever.
