Whilst you’re waiting for the full version of Mirrors Edge to come out you can get your hands on the beta of the 2d version of the game. Unfortunately I am going to be away this weekend so I won’t be able to play the game until next week. Hopefully I will have some time then to give it a proper play through.
Mirrors Edge 2d (not sure what the real name will be) is being developed in Flash and is being created by Brad Bourne, the man behind Fancy Pants – and it shows. The visual stylings match the 3d game quite nicely but the controls and athleticism of Faith, the character, are pretty similar to Fancy Pants himself. That said there are new moves, such as wall running and climbing, as well as new objectives so it does all work quite nicely and serve as a decent preview of the real thing.
