Mario Galaxies gameplay video

Wow – the Nintendo E3 conference was pretty damm cool yesterday. One of my favourite games mentioned was the new Super Mario game – Mario Galaxies.

When I first heard about this when the Wii was first announced I was underwhelmed. The trailers did nothing for me, and I was convinced that the planetary idea would just lead to tiny little areas with nothing of interest between them. I was worried we would have another Mario Sunshine on our hands (nice but generally a bit “meh”).

Thankfully this new trailer has turned it all around for me and I am now more excited than ever and think we could have a new slice of classic Nintendo gaming goodness on our hands.

1 L.T. - July 13, 2007: Along with the new Bee suit, there’s also a Ghost suit! I can’t wait for this game. I can’t believe you weren’t impressed with the small planetoid-like words. It adds a new dimension to platform games, being able to run around 360º.
2 Ben - July 13, 2007: The tiny little worlds turned me off. They were too barren and it didn’t look like there would be enough variety, or secrets to find. This video has turned it around entirely though.
3 Jake - July 13, 2007: I’ll have to show this video to my kids. We are playing paper mario at the moment and it’s brilliant. A 5 star game, I’ll review it soon.
