Guitar Hero 3 DS and other information
Written by Let’s cut to the chase. Guitar Hero 3 is coming to the Nintendo DS – and there may be a guitar peripheral with it!
This sounds insane. Apparently the developers are going to think about portability when they make it, so that people can take their DS guitar with them when they travel. I wonder if they should rename the game Ukelele Hero, because I can’t see anyway you can make a full size guitar portable.
GS AU: Are there any plans to have a custom DS peripheral?
CH: That is definitely one of the options we’re exploring. The DS peripheral is very intriguing to us. It’s an integral part of the Guitar Hero experience, so as much as possible, we would like to keep it within the experience as long as it makes sense and it plays well. And we can do it on the DS where it not only makes sense for the title, but also for the way people like to interact with the DS. It needs to be affordable and it needs to fit within the environment that people normally play DS games in, but central to it all, we are exploring ways to get peripherals on a DS game.

Hey I got a DS Lite today with Super Mario and a Pokemon Game (Pearl) for my son. It’s a neat bit of kit for sure. May do some reviews eventually.
They actually think that people who only have space for a Nintendo DS will bring their guitar with them? Interesting assumption. If I had that room, I’d try to bring my whole game console setup with me.
Yeah – I’m not convinced the Guitar peripheral will work on the DS either. To me it seems a bit of a strange idea to have an addon that is larger than the console it is being played on.
I think its a bloody great idea!
I love guitar hero, ive finished all the games so far so why not have it on DS? Im also a DS fan too and i believe it would be possible to have even a full size guitar controller. Just because of its size, doesnt mean the game should be any different. I think this concept is awesome and I believe if you really think about it, why not add some portable speakers to go with it?
