Sony pulls the plug on Ghostbusters game + an interview with Zootfly

After the “leaked” Ghostbusters videos recently there now comes an interview with Tibor Klajnscek, the technical director at Zootfly where he talks about a number of things relating to the possibility of a Ghostbusters game.

At the early prototype stage we were mostly working on getting the basics right. First, we wanted to reach a common vision of how to do things both artistically and technically. Later on we would work out the details. What I can say for sure is that we would stay true to the Ghostbusters franchise when it comes to handling ghosts. The trap would most definitely be in there. As for other gameplay elements we were going to have some pretty huge monsters, lots of ECTO-based action and of course the omnipresent Ghostbusters humor.

Surprisingly a lot of the talk is gameplay, and not business, based and the game sounds like it’s in the right hands… despite the company coming out of nowhere.

Some bad news though…

There is some bad news though. The videos I linked to previously… they have been pulled from YouTube by Sony who prove, once again, that they don’t understand their userbase.

Sony are the copyright holders for the Ghostbusters license and have requested that Zootfly remove all reference to the game and that youtube remove all the videos. One thing to note though is that Sony, who make the PS3, may not have been happy about the game being made for the xbox360 - which is where things were heading.

I really hope the game is developed, and I really hope it’s released on the 360 (and maybe ps3 as well). Nobody has said the game will be cancelled but then no-one has said if it will be made either. In fact nobody has said anything.
