Fun Link Friday
- Top 10 Videogame Turkeys - a festively titled look at some of the biggest video gaming turkeys of all time. I should point out that I am a fan of the Shenmue games (the first in particular), it's just a shame it never really took off
- Apparently Runescape was the fifth most popular Yahoo search in 2008! Must admit it surprises me quite a bit, I know Runescape is a popular game but 5th most popular search on Yahoo!? Impressive stuff
- An article about integrating youtube into games so that developers can save game videos online. I think everyone should do it!
- Games Within Games, Games Within Stories - a look at the combination of gameplay, and story to create something a little bit more in video games.
- Harry Potter May Be Up Next for a LEGO Videogame - what more do I need to say? (possibly more relevant to those who have read my other website)
- I'll be reviewing the new Prince of Persia myself at some stage but for now you can make do with this commentary from Wired - Consequence-Free Prince of Persia Reduces Frustration, Loses the Fun. Oh, and here's a rather interesting interview with the developers of the game
- I can't say I'm that surprised but now it's official - Over half of adults play video games, and younger adults more likely to play than seniors, study finds
- The Top 10 Pirated PC Games of 2008, Spore is number 1 with 1.7 millions downloads... and it was well publicised that it had DRM. Just goes to show that DRM doesn't work
- I will be posting a review of Mirrors Edge this weekend but for now here's an article that I agree with entirely all about Parkour and Gender
- Here's the opinion of Stephen Spielberg, one of the most famous film directors of all times, talking about the creation of Boom Blox and (interestingly) cut scenes in games (FWIW I intend to review Boom Blox soon as well)
- The Top 7 prettiest games of 2008, there's some gorgeous games in there.
