Flipside - crazy Half Life II mod

Flipside is a Half-Life 2 mod that follows the random imaginings and fantasies of a mental patient who has extreme mood changes and is planning his escape from the insane asylum in which he lives. His escape through takes him through a landscape made of cardboard, magazine cuttings and other unusual objects. As the patients mood changes so does the setting in which he finds himself, flipping from happy thoughts to dark melancholy the world twists with him.

I’m surprised at the choice of engine for what is, in essence a 2d game but it has a wonderful look reminding me of some of the arty, slightly creepy, cartoons I used to watch as a digital art student. The physics on the character seems a bit floaty, and the movement a little light, but the environments and general atmosphere more than make up for it.
