EA’s Skate - gameplay video
Written by A gameplay video of EA’s new game “Skate” has been released and the game looks to be a contender to Tony Hawks domination. To tell the truth I am surprised there hasn’t been a rival skating game for quite a while now. After all Tony Hawks has done phenomenally well, spawning far too many sequels and making far too much cash.
Skate appears to be a different game to Tony Hawks though. Skate looks more realistic and plays more realistically. I haven’t seen any talk about objectives or tasks, or what the gameplay involves (apart from skateboarding obviously), but based upon the footage, the hundred trick combos and 500 meter grinds, just aren’t going to happen. It’s a good idea to differentiate themselves but it remains to be seen if realistic is fun (we plays games to escape reality don’t we?).
Apparently a number of the people in the game are professional skaters but unfortunately none have the same popularity or fame that Tony Hawks enjoys (at least not to the non skating public such as myself). So it will be interesting to see how EA publicise this game.

when does skate come out? and will it be on the wii?
I don’t know for sure but was under the impression that the game was only for the PS3 and XBox360. I don’t know about the release date. Perhaps someone else can help?
Oh man i really hope it comes out on pc or ps2… cuz i wont be getting a ps3 till the price comes down lol… it looks awesome though and very realistic…
