Defend your Castle Wii edition

Defend your Castle started life as a Flash game by XGen Studios. It’s now being turned into a game for WiiWare and below is the first trailer.

I was sceptical of it at first, the initial screenshots looked shoddy. The new trailer is beginning to change my mind though. The bit that caught me was the 4 player action that happens towards the end. The frantic craziness that ensues looks like it could be great fun.

The visuals are still a bit dodgy, but I suspect the low-res video is hiding some stylistic niceties (note the paper effect castle in the menus). I would still have preferred it if they’d gone for something a little more impressive.

One interesting thing to note is the date at the end - I assume that’s a release date. Could it indicate the date the WiiWare channel is launched in the US (and hopefully Europe)?
