Damnation developer walkthroughs

Damnation is a cowboy influenced, steampunk inspired, shoot 'em up coming to the XBox 360, PS3 and PC - and it looks sweet!

The game takes all sorts of elements from all sorts of games to create a world with massive environments and crazy moves. The characters have a sense of physicality and movement previously only seen in games from Ubisoft such as Prince of Persia and Assassins Creed. Ubisfot seem to have the edge on the platforming and animation stakes - there games are a lot smoother, but Codemasters have added guns and explosions and steampunk goodness - so I think this is one to watch.

Witness the incredible vertical scale of Damnation's landscapes, and the game's blend of fast-paced shooter gameplay with spectacular acrobatics.

  • Very interesting. Yes... like you said, the first thing that comes to mind is Prince of Persia or Assassin's Creed (or heck, Mirror's Edge, though not quita as extreme). The freedom to explore in the vertical axis is only now being established well in games-- but this is the first time I've seen a shooter with such potential.

Well I'll have my eye watching this. Heh... who'da thunk that the *moving* part of a shooter would be a highlight. Let's hope the shooting, story, and other gameplay elements are just as interesting. =)
