07 Commando DS

I mentioned the Miniclip flash version of Commando a couple of weeks ago and now a DS game called Commando (07 Commando to be precise) has appeared, and it bears a striking resemblance to the Miniclip game. Of course the game on Miniclip bears a striking resemblance to Metal Slug, but it’s interesting that this game has almost the same name as well.

Ignoring the similarities between Miniclip Commando and Metal Slug, 07 Commando looks pretty good. It has a very similar art style, one I am rather fond of, and it features loads of frenetic shooting action.

I really hope the 07 Commando doesn’t do anything with the stylus and just uses the d-pad and buttons. Sure aiming with the stylus could possibly work, maybe, but I think it would over complicate things. Personally I would feel a lot better if the game used the top screen for cool vertically oriented level design, and for some massive boss monsters, and ignored the stylus entirely.
