Apologies for the expletive but, well, that IS the name of the game.

Choke on my Groundhog, YOU BASTARD ROBOTS is a Robotron style arena shooter… with some time based gameplay. It’s also this months game from Petri Puhro at Kloonigames.

Robots are always bastards. There’s no way around it. We build them and they killed us all. Well almost all, I’m the Earth’s last survivor. But with my time traveling groundhog sidekick I’m going to destroy the robot liberation army and take back Earth.

You control a hand drawn robot on a grid of graph paper fighting off hordes of other bots. When you die you are reincarnated with your slain self fighting alongside you. This can end up causing some pretty intense explosions when you combine weaponry to destroy the same foe. It’s also possible to save your fallen personas by killing the enemies who destroyed them in past attempts - unfortunately they then get stuck on the spot and are helpless to protect you.

The lack of lives, the ease with which you can restart each level, and the fact you have extra help every time you restart means you will finish the level eventually… if only because you have so many versions of yourself killing those Bastard Robots.
