Chalk – Draw ‘em up

Chalk is a shoot 'em up with a twist. The twist? There's no shooting!

In chalk you take on the role of... um... a piece of chalk. You have to control your character avoiding the evil drawings and destroying them where possible. The interesting bit comes in how you defeat your enemies. Basically you have to draw. You can either draw a line joining a number of hit points on obstructions or draw a line joining enemies with bullets to hurt them. Both help clear the way for you to progress through the level.

chalk01It's possible to play the game entirely with the mouse but it's considerably easier (and therefore more fun) to use a keyboard and mouse combo.

As expected with a name like Chalk, the game uses a hand drawn graphical style reminiscent of, well, chalk. It's a nice departure from the norm, and fits well with the idea of drawing parts of the environment.

The game is probably best explained through a video (or playing it yourself :) ) so I've added one below.
