Capcom Announces Okami For Wii

Okami was one of the best PS2 games out during the last year of the system’s life before the new generation of consoles appeared. Unfortunately, even glowing reviews from every publication couldn’t save it. The ink block style and calligraphy required to play the game seemed like it was on the wrong system. Fanboys wanted Okami for Wii but shortly after the game’s release, Capcom closed down the internal studio that made the game. Any hopes for a port were dashed.

Well perk up Okami fans, Capcom just announced Okami will be coming to the Wii. No details were given yet, at least not until tomorrow’s Gamer’s Day in London. I’m hoping it’s a new game featuring the oh so cute wolf but I’ll even settle for a direct PS2 port complete with Wii-waggles.
