Call of Duty 4 trailer

The trailer for the new Call of Duty game was supposed to be released some time today, during some Americasn sports event. I’m not American, and don’t particularly like sports (apart from the Wii variety) so have no idea what that was all about, but the trailer was released online a little bit early so here it is.

Just in case you’ve been living in a cave for the last few years, the Call of Duty games are an immensely popular game series based around various battles in World War 2. You take the part of a soldier in the war, and have to help your commrades in whatever troubles they find themselves in. In Call of Duty you are placed IN the action. The game is full of real time “cut scenes” with various bombs exploding and buildings falling down all around you. It’s the closest many people will get to being in a real life war.

The games have actually gained a lot of popularity because of their incredibly good fun multiplayer mode, which we have spent a considerable amount of time playing at work.

However the Call of Duty games are getting a little stale and recently there has been a fair amount of apathy towards World War 2 games in general, so it was very interesting to hear that the new Call of Duty 4 would be set in a present/ slightly future setting.

With the trailer the new website for the game was launched at CharlieOscarDelta.com (do you see what they did there?). Unfortunately you have to register to get nay decent information so I don;’t know what is in there, but whatever it is I’m sure it will become public knowledge very quickly.
