I am so glad that the new Call of Duty game is set in the modern day. When I first heard about the change I wasn’t convinced it would feel like a Call of Duty game, but haviong now seen this video, I am very impressed and looking forward to the game with an enthusiasm that was missing in the last one (although I still enjoy COD 3 anyway).

As soon as I saw the phrase “night vision” I knew I was in for a treat, and the laser sights on the guns are very cool, but will no doubt cause issues in multiplayer games.

I hope they keep with the intense set peices from previous games, and based on this video nothing has changed there.

The WW2 scenarios were getting rather tired so it’s good that there’s some variation and freshness, and this looks like a great directoin for the series to move in.

I’d really love to see a little box which showed which formats this game footage is in as I don’t know if it’s PC or console or what. I’ve got CoD2 for PC but I never saw a 3 for PC, was it console only or did I miss it?

I believe 3 was console only. I’ve played it on XBox360, and know it’s on the Wii. Not aware of a pc version.

Yea 3 was console only, basically a prettier version of 2 but with more maps.

It’s about time they picked a different setting. How many WWII maps can one play?

I can play a lot ;-)

Currently no – but I hope it comes out on the Wii as well – that’s one I’d play also :)

You know, no matter how much I watch the new E3 trailer, I just can’t get behind the game. Granted I’ve never been a Call of Duty fan but the whole modern setting in the Middle East seems a bit tasteless especially in these times. I like the modern setting but I wish they would have created imaginary situations and locales for warfare.

it is imaginary only a small part is in the middle east. its mainly in russia with a sort of cold war theme.the russians will be tougher enemys than middle easterns i hope.
