Beyond Good and Evil. Best. Game. Ever.

Well, in the top 10 at least.

The trailer below is from an, as yet, unnamed game – but it can only be Beyond Good and Evil. The character is clearly Jade, and her Daï-jo (combat staff – wikipedia is great) is strapped to her back.

It’s pretty clear this is a tech demo, a trailer, or a cutscene as smooth free running style game play such as this would be next to impossible to control – but as a proof of concept it’s fantastic.

The running and jumping all look like they’ve been very influenced by Mirrors Edge and that’s no bad thing. Unfortunately the stylings of the trailer match those of the teaser trailer from last year – moving away from the more anime influenced look of the original.
