There have been a few new bits on Assassins Creed recently. Rather than write a whole bunch of posts with all the different information I’ve collected them all together for one bigger post so that you don’t get (much more) fed up with me going on about it.

Assassins Creed on Nintendo DS?

Yep - apparently so. Recent press releases from Nintendo announce a DS version of Assassins Creed for release at the start of next year. No doubt I will end up getting it but I’m not entirely sure how the stunning XBox 360 game will translate to the DS.

Composer Announced

The music for Assassins Creed is going to be composed by the award winning Jesper Kyd. Music plays a surprisingly large part in video games so it’s good that Ubisoft have a professional composer on hand.

We listened to many composers before finding the right person for Assassin’s Creed. Jesper Kyd turned out to be the perfect match for the title because he is able to create epic historical pieces fused with both traditional medieval instruments and modern synth sounds…

New Gameplay Video

How could I mention Assassins Creed without adding a video of some sort. This game has had loads posted on the internet… and today I bring to you two new ones.

Hoorah!

First up is a gameplay movie, showing off a short mission (likely the end of a mission or a special one for this video). I can’t get enough of that swan dive at the end. Also this is the first time I’ve seen the futuristic splashes in gameplay - not sure if it’s a good thing or not.

Second is an official movie showing off a gameplay montage of the various actions you can perform. I love the sense of height you get and really hope the area at the start of the video can be reached in game, and isn’t a cutscene.
