There have been lots of attempts at 3d flash games using the many 3d flash engines that are rapidly growing in popularity - however most of the games released have been not uch more than tech demos.
Renegade Commanders is the first full 3d real time strategy game made in Flash and playable online - and a testament to the abilities of Flash itself. Build 3d units and attack 3d enemies - it's all there and working, and is actually enjoyable to boot.
I must admit it would have been nice if there had been some more "3d ness" to the game, allowing the camera to be spun around and adding 3d terrains - but there's a solid base and plenty of scope for improvement in the sequel (will there be one). Likewise the graphics are a little rough around the edges, but that's nothing a bit of spit and polish won't improve, and to be honest it's such a good game that it doesn't really matter to me - fantastic.
